EarthBound was released on the Super Nintendo in 1995. It was an epic RPG which quickly gained a cult following. Unfortunately, many people from my side of the planet had no idea that Nintendo had released two other EarthBound games in Japan. The first game was released on the Famicom (the Japanese name for the NES) under the name Mother, and the third was released on the Game Boy Advance under the name Mother 3. Nintendo fans have been waiting for over twenty years for either of these games to get officially released in North America.
During the Nintendo World Championships tonight, Nintendo officially announced that the first Mother game, which they are calling EarthBound Beginnings, is coming to the Wii U’s Virtual Console! Take a look!
EarthBound Beginnings is launching at 9PM EST tonight exclusively on the Wii U Virtual Console!

The developers of the Oculus Rift VR headset had their Pre-E3 Press Event earlier today. During the event they showed off several of the games that are planned for the headset including EVE Valkrie and Edge of Nowhere. You can check out some footage for these games in the video below.
When the headset is released, players will be able to pick up their headsets and start to play. Games can be purchased or downloaded from either the 3D interface built into the headset or the 2D interface designed for the PC, which can be used even when the Oculus is not in use. The Oculus also will feature a native friends list in its 3D interface, enabling players the chance to join their friends game sessions at any time when they have their headsets in use.
The headset will ship with an Xbox One controller but if that isn’t futuristic enough for you, they revealed a whole new control system for the platform involving motion control. A new controller, dubbed the Touch, function as free moving wireless controllers for each hand. Each Touch controller fits easily in each of your hands and are equipped with an analog stick and several tactile buttons.
Oculus Rift is coming Q1 2016. No price has been announced.
