The first major system update in quite some time has just been released and Xbox One owners can download it right now.

Take a look at all the new features.

The new update is not currently required to download in order to use the Xbox One, but you can manually download it through the Xbox One’s Settings App.

A new controller firmware update was released along with the new dashboard. Make sure to update your controllers as well. To update your controller you will need a USB 3.0 cable, but if you have an Xbox One play and charge kit, the cable included with that kit will work just fine.

On the day of the game’s launch, Maniac did a live video stream of the entire first episode of the multiplatform episodic adventure game Life is Strange. The stream was quite popular and people watching it asked a lot of questions and gave some great advice.

This footage was entirely streamed from the Playstation 4. It is presented with video commentary and a transcript of the live comments Maniac was getting as he played.

Just be aware, this is a complete playthrough so if you want to avoid spoilers, give it a miss until you have played the game yourself.

Life is Strange is out now on the PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

The Xbox Live Arcade title Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons from Starbreeze Studios is free for the first half of this month to all current Xbox Live Gold Members. Since it is an Xbox Live Arcade title, you can download the full version right now or (if you already downloaded the demo version of the game) upgrade the demo to the full version for no cost. The game will continue to remain free until January 15, 2015. One day later, Sniper Elite V2 will take its place and be offered as free download instead.

Like with all Games With Gold titles on the Xbox 360, once downloaded, the game will remain as a legal purchase on your Xbox Live account, and you will be able to redownload or replay it even if your Xbox Live Gold account expires. The game will take up just over 600MB of storage space.
