Mirror’s Edge 2 Announced June 10, 2013

In a move more surprising than anything, EA has announced they are developing their most requested game.  The sequel to the 2008 sleeper hit Mirror’s Edge has been announced, and here is the proof.

Mirror’s Edge 2 is coming when it’s done.

South Park: The Stick of Truth E3 2013 Trailer June 10, 2013

After a publisher shut down, South Park: The Stick of Truth has found a new publisher with UbiSoft, and today at their E3 Media Briefing, UbiSoft showed this new trailer for the game.  Be warned, you will need to like farts to like this trailer.

South Park: The Stick of Truth is coming Holidays 2013 to the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Coming to Xbox One June 10, 2013

Metal Gear is going open world, and it’s going to be on Xbox One.

Featuring the voice of Kiefer Sutherland as Snake, Metal Gear Solid V is bringing an entirely new stealth gameplay system to the series.  Hideo Kojima has confirmed that the Xbox One version of the game will support Xbox SmartGlass.

Dead Rising 3 Announced for Xbox One June 10, 2013

The first game took place in a mall, the second game took place in an analog to Las Vegas, and now we’re moving to a new city heavily inspired by a city in Southern California.  We’ll now be in the shoes of a new protagonist.  He’s not a racer or a photographer, he’s a car mechanic, so he’s good with his hands and will be able to improvise and improve weapons on the fly.

The game’s developers promises the game will feature an open-world environment and there will be will be no load times.  The game will feature Xbox SmartGlass integration.  From what we saw in the E3 2013 demo, you will be able to call in air strikes from your personal cell phone.  The game will feature multiplayer cooperative play through the main experience.

Dead Rising 3 is coming exclusive to Xbox One.  GameStop currently has it listed as a launch title for the system.

Watch Dogs “Exposed” Trailer June 10, 2013

Here’s a quick teaser before the UbiSoft Media Preview event.  The game I’m most interested in seeing at that event is Watch Dogs, an open world game where you play as a computer hacker turned vigilante able to manipulate the city for their own purposes.

In this CGI-Trailer, you get to see just how powerful someone with that ability can be.

Swery65, who I remember as being the director of the extremely polarizing game Deadly Premontion, is working on a brand new game for the Xbox One, D4.

Sunset Overdrive Announced June 10, 2013

Insomniac Games, who I remember fondly for creating Resistance: Fall of Man on the Playstation 3 has just revealed their newest game for the Xbox One.  It’s nothing like we’ve seen before.  The world is bright and chipper, and you as a player will be able to use the environment to your advantage.  Oh and did I mention you’ll be fighting monsters?

Quantum Break E3 2013 Trailer June 10, 2013

Originally announced alongside the Xbox One, Quantum Break is looking to be Remedy’s magnum opus.  Here’s a game that will take some of the greatest strengths Remedy learned from creating properties like Alan Wake and Max Payne and bringing them to a new generation.  In the game, you meet a character who was caught up in a time experiment gone wrong.  What you’re about to see is running entirely in real-time.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Remedy intends to merge the real-time gameplay engine with the live action components we saw in the announcement trailer!

For the first time ever on a console, a Halo game is going to be in 60 Frames Per Second.

Halo is coming in 2014 exclusive to Xbox One.

Killer Instinct Announced for Xbox One June 10, 2013

Before the Xbox One was announced I made a video where I talked about several things I felt Microsoft should announce along with a new console.  I felt Microsoft’s best chance to one-up Sony’s PS4 reveal was to show a wide spectrum of new games from classic properties using their original developers.  One of the games I requested was a new game by Rare, and today Microsoft has delivered.  Killer Instinct is coming to Xbox One, and it is bringing all the features of the Xbox One with it.

The game will feature 3D characters but fighting will keep to a 2D perspective.  With a single voice command to your Kinect, Killer Instinct will allow instant game streaming to Twitch.TV.  It will also support a classic arcade joystick, which will release day and date with the game.

Killer Instinct is coming this year exclusive to Xbox One.
