Super Mario 3D World Announced June 11, 2013

The sequel to the 3DS classic Super Mario 3D Land has just been announced for the Wii U, and it is called Super Mario 3D World.  Now Mario and three other players, each with their own unique abilities, can join together and explore an entirely new 3D world.  There are a lot of familiar enemies, and the platforming looks amazing.

But that’s not all, the game will add an entirely new powerup in the form of Cat Mario.  This power will give Mario the ability to run faster, climb walls, and charge enemies head-on!

Super Mario 3D World is coming exclusive to the Wii U.  A playable version of the game will be available at Best Buy stores across the country Wednesday and Saturday.  Check Best Buy Events for all the details.

Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD E3 2013 Trailer June 11, 2013

Even though I had a GameCube, I was never lucky enough to pick up a copy of Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for it, and now the collector’s value of that original game has gone through the roof, and rightly so.  It is considered to be one of the best games that Nintendo has ever made, and for many its one of the best games ever…period.

Nintendo is rereleasing Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker in glorious HD for the Wii U.  The game is getting a complete HD facelift as well as new features exclusive to the Wii U version.  For example, they have also said that some of the additional functionality that was served by using a Game Boy Advance with your GameCube has been moved over to the Miiverse.

Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD is coming October 2013 exclusive to the Wii U.  It will be one of four games playable at Best Buy stores across the country on Wednesday and Saturday.

Mario Kart 8 Announced June 11, 2013

The latest entry in the phenominal Mario Kart series has been announced, and it’s coming to the Wii U.  It’s the best features from many of the previous Mario Kart games including gliding, underwater driving, and motorcycles, but adding entirely new features along with it like driving under the track!

Mario Kart 8 is coming exclusive to the Wii U.  It will be one of the games playable at Best Buy stores across the country tomorrow.

Bayonetta 2 E3 2013 Trailer June 11, 2013

The Bayonetta series is coming to the Wii U, and for the first time we get a look at our game’s star.  Someone got a haircut.

Nintendo Announces Best Buy E3 Game Demo Titles June 11, 2013

Nintendo Direct E3 2013 Video June 11, 2013

At 10AM EST, Nintendo started the live feed of their E3 2013 Nintendo Direct, and for the past hour the feed has been unwatchable.  At this point, I question the logic of live streaming a pre-rerecorded event.  Thankfully, Nintendo has released their E3 Direct video on YouTube.  It’s not a live feed, so it should work a lot better.

Expect more Nintendo coverage from E3 later today!

BEYOND: Two Souls E3 2013 Trailer June 10, 2013

Sony showed off a handful of PS3 games just before their PS4 reveal at E3 today and BEYOND: Two Souls was one of the games featured.  Take a look at this never before seen gameplay trailer featuring a never before seen sequence in the game detailing Jodie and her ghost Aiden fighting together in a warzone.  Now I know that Jodie was telling the truth when she said she learned how to fight in the army.

BEYOND: Two Souls is coming October 8th, 2013 exclusive to the PS3.

inFAMOUS: Second Son E3 2013 Trailer June 10, 2013

Announced alongside the PS4, inFAMOUS: Second Son is the third game in the inFAMOUS franchise, and today we got our first real look at it.  It features a new protagonist who has entirely new powers, including the power to control and manipulate smoke.  We also see the first look at the new city this game will take place in.  Unlike the previous games which used fake city names to cover up real world analogs, this game will take place in the real city of Seattle, Washington, the home of developer Sucker Punch.

inFAMOUS: Second Son is coming Q1 2014 exclusive to the Playstation 4.

Playstation 4 Price Announced June 10, 2013

Microsoft has a lot they should be worried about right now.  Sony has announced the Playstation 4 is coming Holiday 2013 for a price of $399 US, one hundred dollars less than the Xbox One, and only fifty dollars more than the premium model Wii U.

Sony has confirmed that they have no intention to block sales of used games and will allow their users to trade or any Playstation 4 games they purchase to whoever they wish.  They also confirmed the Playstation 4 does not require online activation of games, or check for an internet connection every 24 hours.  Sony repeated that they are committed to earning the trust of their customers with the Playstation 4, and they felt that was at the core for the PS4’s success.

If you happen to be a Playstation Plus user, existing Playstation Plus users will be able to carry over their accounts from the Playstation Vita or PS3 to the Playstation 4 when it is released.  A slew of downloaded titles is expected to be coming for the PS4’s Playstation Plus users.
