Apple has released iOS 6.1 to their compatible devices. The update expands 4G LTE support to a wider range of wireless providers, and brings some new features and bug fixes.
If you’ve got yourself an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, make sure to run a Software Update today while on a WiFi network to check if your device is ready for 6.1. To do that go into the Settings Menu from the device’s main screen and select General, and then Software Update from the list. You can also update your device through iTunes. All you need to do is select update from iTunes while the device is connected to your computer. Just make sure you have the most recent version of iTunes installed.
You’re going to need A LOT of free space for this update. On the iPhone 4, the upgrade is only a 78MB download, and yet it requires 1GB of free space to do a wireless software update.
