What Was Cut from Half-Life 2 April 5, 2012

Half-Life 2 was a game that I have quite a connection with. I was one of the first people to see it demoed live at E3 2003 and E3 2004. I was one of the first members of the press to hear the announcement of Counter Strike: Source, and when the time came, one of the first players to beta test it.
Half-Life 2 was in development at Valve Software for around five years. While the final version of the game was undoubtably one of the best PC games of all time, there were a few things that just couldn’t make it into the final version of the game, as well as a few scenes that were extended or altered from their original design.
Armed with the books he’s read and his own knowledge of the game’s development, Maniac talks about what was cut from Valve’s 2004 PC Game of the Year, Half-Life 2.
Bioware Announces Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut April 5, 2012

Today, Bioware has come out and announced that they will be releasing an extended ending to Mass Effect 3 and they will be doing it as free downloadable content to their customers on all platforms!
After Mass Effect 3 released, fans of the series complained in droves over the game’s finale (some going as far as to report Bioware to various government authorities). Well, Bioware has announced they are taking all these requests for an extended ending to heart and will be releasing one for free to all of Mass Effect 3 owners this summer.
Full details about the DLC as well as a FAQ can be found here!
Now the important thing to note here is Bioware will NOT be changing the endings in Mass Effect 3 or adding the possibility of more endings. What they are instead doing is using this DLC to provide the player with additional context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard’s story.
Mass Effect 3 is out now for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

Props for cameos by Sam Lake as Mr. Scratch’s writer!
Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is out now exclusively for the Xbox 360 through Xbox Live Arcade!
